English: Ball-and-stick model of (2R)-cefuroxime. Based on PDB ID 1QMF, full reference:
Gordon, E; Mouz, N; Duée, E; Dideberg, O (2 June 2000). "The crystal structure of the penicillin-binding protein 2x from Streptococcus pneumoniae and its acyl-enzyme form: implication in drug resistance.". Journal of molecular biology 299 (2): 477-85. DOI:10.1006/jmbi.2000.3740. PMID 10860753. MOL2 file for the ligand KEF (on chain C) was opened in Avogadro2 and hydrogens were added. The hydrogen connected to the thiazine ring where it connects to the carboxyl group was oddly flat, however. So, I optimized the energy until it reached MMFF94 energy of -1.37634 to correct this geometric quirk. I opened this in BIOVIA Discovery Studio Visualizer where this image was created. It was then cropped in GIMP. |
